Alder Street Auto Body is the only accredited ICBC auto body shop in Summerland that was founded in 1991 by Martin and Linda Van Alphen. Their oldest son, Kelsey, having “grown up in the shop” and been in the auto trade much of his life, became a red seal Auto Collision Repair Technician in 1999.

Kelsey and his wife, Katrina, purchased the family business from his parents in late 2005. In 2010 they undertook a renovation that expanded the shop by 1700 square feet, added a new spray booth, lunch room and wash bay. Currently they employ nine full time staff.

In 2010, Alder Street won the Business Excellence award at the Summerland business & community excellence awards. In 2011 and 2013, Alder Street won the AutocheX Premier Achiever award for customer service through ICBC, which put them in the top 5% in the province for service. In 2011/14/15 Okanagan Life readers voted them the best auto body repair in the South Okanagan.

Kelsey and Katrina donate regularly to the local Summerland Steam, Food bank and local charities. Kelsey currently serves as a director and treasurer of the Summerland Chamber of Commerce; and previously has spent 10 years as a member of the Summerland Kinsmen. Kelsey and Katrina have three young children and truly love living in the beautiful community of Summerland.

Great experience! Very flexible to work with our needs and the final price did not exceed the estimate. They came and picked up our car while we were away and it was done when we got back from vacation. Hopefully we won’t need an auto body mechanic in future but if we do, I’d pick these guys! Alder Street Auto Body repaired the rear drivers side door of my vehicle. They replaced the door and blended the color perfectly. My car was detailed beautifully also. The staff was wonderful to communicate with and prompt with the repair. Then walked me through the steps completed in pick up. The shop was willing to provide repair of additional existing body damage for an extremely reasonable price. I was provided with a high quality loaner vehicle with brand new winter tires. I felt safe and secure without my car. I highly recommend Alder street Auto body.
